Many thanks! 01 : zap strassburger : 28-02-2001 started with some ambient sound, very low frequency and gameplay-sounds of 'falcon' on c64 02 : brad brace : 01-04-2001 new beginnings recycled 03 : heiko recktenwald : 06-04-2001 playing with cecilia, some filters, brahohu, I like the e d 01 : zap strassburger : 28-02-200 started with some ambient sound, very low frequency and gameplay-sounds of 'falcon' on c6 02 : brad brace : 01-04-2001 new beginnings recycle 03 : heiko recktenwald : 06-04-2001 playing with cecilia, some filters brahohu, I like the en 04 : Cecil Touchon : 07-04-2001 COMMENTS: I took the previous three files and mixed them together adjusting the volume etc. so that the various parts could be heard. I especially liked the mix of Zap's and Heiko's works. I then took the first 30+ seconds of my Massurrealist Meditations #3 http://ipdg.org/flux.mex.us/mm03.mp3 which is a sound collage I made in anticipation of the current work containing various precussive sounds which (I can't remember) I think might have been extracted from a prepared piano work of John Cage, The Microsoft Windows 'new email notification' sound, the voice of John Lennon saying "OK" (0:12, 0:14, 0:25) and the voice from a WWII BBC reporter on a ship being attacked by a german airplane ("Wait a minute!"0:13, Wait a minute!" 0:23, "Every thing's OK." 0:26), chopped up Ravi Shankar sitar (0:19 - 0:28), snippet of a performance of a John Cage work (female voice) (0:26 and 0:54 - 0:57), some violin sounds (0:45 - 0:50), and various other manipulated or appropriated sounds. 05 : Sol Nte : 09-04-2001 I wrote a program to randomly cut-up and rearrange the history.txt file thus far. I then took a small segment of that rearranged text into a speech synthesizer and recorded the spoken text and mixed it with the hot minute so far. The re-arranged text is now in this directory as output.txt, just included for the curious really, the text I added is from "I like the end" to the end of the file. The program is also available for win95/98 if anyone wants it, although it's really a very basic tool written to get the job done 06 : mashica : 11-04-2001 Really digging Cecil's use of Indian classical music, we added a small piece of tabla solo from Ustad Allah Rakha playing with Sultan Khan on sarangi. Tala: Chartaal Ki Sawari. The applause is from a different tabla performance by Zakir Hussain, Allah Rakha's son 07 : 16-04-2001 Added a triangular wave sweeping slowly from low to high frequency created on a Nord Modular synthesize | |
