>>>History
This page contains pieces of music produced by 4 members of the Fluxlist e-mail discussion group between February and November 2000. The files were produced in the following way using midi files: One person would produce a midi file with one track (i.e. a melody or rhythm etc. played on one instrument, so file 1 contains 1 track). This file would then be sent to the next person who would choose a different instrument and add a second track (so file 2 contains the track in file 1 plus the new track that has just been added and so on). This would continue until all of us had played on the midi file or rearranged it. In this way the 4 of us could compose music together via electronic tools and communication even though we are greatly separated geographically. The use of the midi file format meant that the filesize of our compositions was small enough to e-mail back and forth. When a piece was finished it was rendered as a wav file and then encoded as mp3. Latterly some other compositions were done remixing work already in wav format, these files are also included.
